Duration is the quickest filter. The jeep safaris come as a four-hour half-day tour from €36 or a seven-hour full-day tour with lunch from €58, and the four-hour sunset jeep tour from €35 suits anyone who wants the countryside in evening light. Quad and buggy rides mostly last between one and a half and three hours, though some are full-day, and they are priced per vehicle, so compare the group price rather than the figure on the card.
Families with younger children will get more from Zoomarine, Slide & Splash, Krazy World or the mini-golf in Vilamoura than from a long jeep day. Couples often lean towards the wineries, from a two-hour tasting in Loulé from €18 to a three-hour tour with tapas from €59.
Surf lessons run two hours, at Galé or Falésia, from €32. Several tours start outside Albufeira, so check the meeting point on the offer page.
Good to know: Book the boat trip for the calmest forecast day and put a land experience on the windy one. That way a rough Atlantic costs you nothing but a change of plan.

On the listings the half-day tour takes about four hours and the full-day tour about seven. The longer versions leave room for a lunch stop and, on one of them, a distillery visit. If you only want a taste of the countryside, the four-hour tour is enough.
These listings quote a “from” price per vehicle, for one or two riders depending on the listing, not per person. Where two people share, the cost per head is lower than the figure suggests. Check on the offer page how an extra rider is charged and whether a driving licence is required.
The parks (Zoomarine, Slide & Splash, Krazy World) and the mini-golf in Vilamoura are built for families, and Slide & Splash is listed at seven hours. Age and height limits for quads, buggies, horse riding and go-karts differ by operator, so read the conditions on each offer page before you book.
